Full-STEAMM programme is an enabler project of the Wellington Regional Economic Development Plan (2022-2032), aiming to support 500 Year 9-13 female students, by 2029, to prepare for future STEAMM careers, driving equity and productivity of New Zealand.

December 2024: 5,244 NEET job seekers between 16-24 years old registered in Wellington, It was just over 4000 in November 2022, an increase of 31%.

Stats NZ data in 2022,

  • Māori make up about 5% of the digital technology workforce

  • Pacific women: Less than 3% in the digital tech workforce

New Zealand's labor productivity has lagged significantly behind:

  • 40% less than Western Europe

  • 30% less than Australia

After over 20 years of providing foundational tertiary education, we are partnering with Wellington schools and youth-friendly employers to shift our focus to prevention and empowerment.

Our 8-year Full-STEAMM extracurricular programme supports schools to cultivate Year 9-13 female students into future-ready talent driving equity and productivity in STEAMM.

OUR HOW

Through timely, holistic, consistent engagement, mentorship, real-world experience, whanau involvement and career pathways with top STEAMM organisations in Wellington, we empower young women to develop their Personal STEAMM (skills, talent, experience, attitude, mindset, motivation), and unlock Career STEAMM success in science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics, and manufacturing.
